CLIENT
An Organization within the U.S. Army
PROJECT NAME
Internet Site Redesign
OVERVIEW
The client had a public-facing Internet site that was clearly showing its age. It lacked consistent styling and branding, was difficult to navigate, and required a full-time web developer to maintain. Also, the organization was undergoing a large restructuring effort, and leadership decided their Internet site needed a facelift. To accomplish this large task, the client asked NMR Consulting to recommend and architect a solution.
Working with the client's visual information department, NMR designed and deployed a web content management system based on Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007. NMR converted the new graphical design into master pages and style sheets compatible with SharePoint, created customized web parts that aggregated content from various locations on the site, and implemented workflows that allowed end users to directly submit their own content for approval. NMR also fine-tuned the navigation and search aspects of the site to make content easier to find.
The client's web site now had a sharp-looking, uniform design that reflected the organization's new image and reduced the total cost of ownership.
