ABERDEEN, Md., Sept. 29, 2015 – NMR Consulting was a proud sponsor of the inaugural Girls on the Run of Harford & Cecil Counties’ Charity Golf Tournament.
Girls on the Run® is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. This life-changing program inspires girls in the 3rd through 8th grades to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running.
The 20-lesson Girls on the Run curriculum combines training for a 5K running event with lessons that inspire girls to become independent thinkers, enhance their problem-solving skills, and make healthy decisions. This is accomplished through an active collaboration with girls and their parents, schools, volunteers, staff, and the community.
“Girls on the Run empowers young women to take on great challenges,” said NMR President David Jones. “We’re proud to have been part of this event, and look forward to the wonderful things Girls on the Run will do in the future.”
The charity golf tournament raised money to fund the council, which relies on fundraising, grants, and sponsorships for nearly half of its operating costs. Monies raised by the tournament help sustain the council and create opportunities for scholarships for participants who need financial help.
Girls on the Run of Harford & Cecil Counties is an independent council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of 200+ locations across the United States and Canada.
