CHANTILLY, Va., Dec. 1, 2015 – NMR Consulting is excited to announce the launch of a new employee wellness program that encourages participants to increase their movement and creates opportunities for employees to interact in new and exciting ways. More than half of the company has enrolled in the program, with 83% of the enrolled actively participating in challenges.
“We wanted to encourage camaraderie among employees, especially those working at remote locations,” said NMR Consulting President David Jones. “The wellness program does that by creating a platform for employees to connect with one another as they work towards a common goal.”
The program provides a Garmin Vivofit 2 to all participants to record their movements and sync to Matchup, an online application through which NMR administers its challenges. Challenges range from individuals competing for the most steps in a day, to teams working together for the highest average number of steps over a set period of time. Awards are given for step activity – such as total number of steps and largest percentage of increase – and for other less tangible but equally important activities.
“We created a ‘Most Encouraging’ award in our first challenge,” said NMR Marketing Manager Theresa Blaner. “When you’re in the midst of a challenging activity, a word of encouragement goes a long way. That encouragement is just as important an activity as the stepping itself, and deserves to be rewarded.”
So far the company has hosted two challenges, with a 20% increase in participation between the two.
“The response to the wellness program has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Jones. “We couldn’t have asked for a better outcome.”
The NMR wellness program is free to all employees.
